FAQ

HOW DO I SEND MY SONG FOR MIXING?

When exporting files from a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) to send to an audio engineer for mixing and mastering, there are several key considerations to ensure the best quality and compatibility. Follow these steps for optimal results:

  1. Prepare your project: Make sure your project is organized and properly labeled. Check that all tracks are properly edited, arranged, and balanced. Remove any unnecessary tracks or audio regions.

  2. Set the session sample rate and bit depth: Before exporting, confirm the sample rate and bit depth of your session. The most common sample rates are 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz, and the bit depth is typically 16-bit or 24-bit. Ensure that your export settings match your session settings.

  3. Disable unnecessary processing: Disable any effects, plugins, or processing that are not essential to the mix. This includes any mastering plugins or bus processing that you may have applied. If you would like to keep autotune or want a certain effect left on, then that won't be an issue.

  4. Set appropriate levels: Ensure that your mix isn't clipping or distorting. Keep your peak levels below 0 dBFS (decibels full scale) to avoid digital distortion. Aim for an average level of around -6 dBFS to -3 dBFS to provide headroom for the engineer's processing.

  5. Consolidate audio files: If you have any tracks with offline processing or time-based effects, make sure to consolidate them into individual audio files. This ensures that the audio engineer receives all the necessary audio data without any missing plugins or effects.

  6. Export individual tracks: Export each track as a separate audio file. This allows the audio engineer to have maximum flexibility during the mixing process. Export in a lossless format such as WAV or AIFF for the best quality.

  7. Naming conventions: Use clear and consistent naming conventions for your exported files. Include the track name, version number, and any relevant information to help the audio engineer identify and organize the files easily.

  8. Provide reference files: If you have any specific reference tracks that you would like the audio engineer to use as a reference for the sound, include them along with your exported files. This will help communicate your desired outcome.

  9. Check file integrity: Before sending the files, double-check that they play back correctly on a different audio player or DAW to ensure that no issues occurred during the export process.

By following these steps, you can ensure that the audio engineer receives high-quality files with the necessary information to perform the mixing and mastering process effectively.

HOW DO I UPLOAD MY FILES?

Once you have all the files ready, compress them into a single ZIP or RAR archive to make it easier to send.

After you pay for the service, there will be a confirmation page showing your purchase and an UPLOAD section at the bottom. Make sure you upload the ZIP or RAR file and add any notes regarding how you want your song mixed.

Please include a reference mix of your own song and of an industry song similar to the one of yours to ensure the best possible quality mix and master!

HOW DO I UPLOAD FOR MASTERING?

When sending your two-track mix for mastering, please send as a 24 or 16 bit .WAV file. Turn off all compression, EQ and limiting on the master fader. MP3 files are not acceptable for high-quality mastering, and converting them in iTunes will not change this. You must bounce or export directly from your mixing software to achieve a true 24bit WAV file. When your are ready, make payment and you will receive a link to upload.

DO YOU OFFER MONEY BACK?

We are committed to delivering the best possible mix and master for your song. Our team of experienced audio engineers puts great effort into creating a final product that meets your expectations. However, we understand that personal preferences may vary, and we want to make sure you are fully satisfied with the result.

That's why we offer a 50% money-back guarantee on your first purchase if you are not completely happy with the mix and master of your song. If, after receiving the final product, you feel that it doesn't meet your desired vision or quality standards, we will refund 50% of the amount you paid.

Here's How it Works:

  1. Purchase a mixing and mastering Package and upload the files to the link you receive from the confirmation email.

  2. We mix the song and get it back to you within 6-8 business days.

Once you take a listen you can either:

A. Email us saying you like the mix and want to move on to the revision process. (Once the revision process starts the money-back guarantee is no longer active.)

B. Email us telling us you don’t like the mix and want your money back.

However, our commitment to your satisfaction doesn't end with the guarantee. We genuinely strive to ensure that you are 100% happy with the final product.
